Answers to Your Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just take part of the program?
No. This program is designed for those who want to learn as much as possible about the skills and strategies of an ADHD Life Coach. It’s not à la carte because we want you to have it all!
Do I need to take the whole program?
Yes. Completing the whole program will be required to graduate with the training hours, mentoring, and advanced knowledge of a Professional-Certified ADHD Life Coach from the iACTCenter.
Is there a way to fast-track through the program?
Unfortunately, no. This program is designed to provide long-lasting learning and skill development for a PCC coach, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to coach neurodiverse clients. This cannot be achieved in less time.
I already know about the Coaching Core Competencies. Do I need to take that portion of the training?
Yes, you will need to complete the entire program. The P-CALC program is a comprehensive coach training program that builds on your previous learning and prepares you to demonstrate the advanced skills of a PCC coach upon graduation.
I see the P-CALC program doesn't includes 10 hours of one-on-one mentoring. Do I need 10 hours of mentoring to graduate?
Yes, participants independently contract with an iACTcenter-approved ICF Mentor Coach Specialist of their choice for ten sessions of individualized Mentor Coaching and their Cumulative Competency Review.
What if I’ve completed all the P-CALC graduation requirements but haven’t yet reached the ICF’s 500 coach-client practice hours for PCC certification?
That’s no problem! Once you’ve completed all the graduation criteria for the P-CALC, you’ll receive your iACTcenter Level-2 certificate of completion. SAVE THIS!
Continue coaching and logging hours until you have the ICF’s required 500 hours of client coaching hours. With your iACTcenter Level 2 graduation certificate and a letter attesting to your coaching hours, you’ll have everything you need to apply for your ICF PCC credential.
How long is the program?
Completing the program and graduating will take eight months.
Will I get resources to coach persons with ADHD?
Absolutely! At the iACTcenter, we believe in paying it forward with the mission of decreasing the stigma, increasing awareness, and empowering people with ADHD! We also don’t believe in re-creating the wheel and are eager to share our resources with our students, who can use these tools, templates, workbooks, strategies, etc., with their coaching clients.
Can I enroll if I have completed everything for an ACC credential but did not apply for it?
No. The minimum requirement to enroll in this program is that you have already earned your ACC certificate.
Does the P-CALC program include any business training or courses?
No. However, you are welcome to register for any live courses during your training or purchase access to past courses. You can find out more about the iACTCenter Business Training Course here.
I have my ACC certificate, but I don’t have 200 accrued client coaching hours yet. Can I still enroll?
Unfortunately, no. The experience gained by starting the program with the required number of coach-client hours is important for solidifying your ACC coaching skills so you are ready to build on them and demonstrate coaching at the PCC level.
Does the iACTcenter provide coaching clients during my training?
We understand that securing clients to practice your emerging coaching skills and reach the required number of practice hours for your credential can be challenging. It takes time to gain the confidence to create personal visibility, meet potential clients, and the skill to enroll new coaching clients in your practice.
This is why part of our business training specifically teaches you the valuable skill of enrolling clients using our proprietary iACTcenter method. We know that this proven step-by-step process will empower you to keep your coaching business thriving for years to come.
That’s why, in addition to teaching you how to enroll new clients, our training includes several additional opportunities for you to accrue coach-client practice hours, whether paid, bartered, or pro bono.
At the iACTcenter, we want you to experience the best coach training possible and benefit from our extensive coaching network. During your training and while preparing to graduate from our P-CALC program, you can gain experience and accrue coaching hours in several ways: first, by practicing with fellow students outside of class, one-on-one, or by coordinating an independent “Coaching Circle” with fellow students. Also, as a P-CALC student, you are welcome to place your coaching profile on our website, “Hire a Coach Page,” where visitors can find you when looking for a coach.
A third way our advanced students find clients is through direct referrals from other professionals in the ADHD community. Finally, one of the most popular ways to accrue those precious coaching hours is when students in our advanced programs connect with and coach eager students in our basic training programs. It’s a win-win-win situation for everyone!
What are the pre qualifications to enroll in the P-CALC program?
To enroll in the P-CALC program requires that you have at least an ICF ACC certification from an accredited coach training program and that you have accrued at least 200 coaching hours.
