Hi! And welcome to the IACTCenter website. I am glad you are here. Let me tell you a little about my story. Nearly fifteen years ago, I was a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by day and the mother of a seven-year-old son newly diagnosed with ADHD by night. Despite my experience and education in the medical field, during those early years, I felt helpless as to how to help him manage and overcome his challenges. Our whole family was in chaos.
A few years later, I discovered ADHD Coaching, began applying coaching techniques with my son and saw what a positive difference it made in his life and the overall well-being of our whole family. I knew I wanted to use this approach to help other parents, students and adults overcome their ADHD challenges, feel more confident in their abilities, and experience success. Now, years later, after working with hundreds of people with ADHD, seeing the same positive changes in their lives, I know this is my life purpose. I simply love what I do!
Today, I am happy to say that both my son and I have been able to pursue our dreams. I have been an ADHD Coach for twelve years at Coaching for ADHD and just opened my own ADHD Coach training center, The International ADHD Coach Training Center, to teach others how to become an ADHD coach. My son is just finishing up his five years serving proudly in our United States Navy as a submariner and elite Navy Diver, preparing for the next adventure in his life…college! I am a proud and grateful mom. Here is a picture of me with both of my boys. (The one on the left is my Navy Diver.)
I know many families and individuals go through what I went through, I talk with them every day, and they are struggling without the understanding of what ADHD is all about and how to help themselves or their loved ones. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. Your lives can change, just as it did for us.
As a mother of four “launched” young adults (two with ADHD), a wife whose husband has been diagnosed with ADHD, along with the twelve years of training and coaching on ADHD, I can help you unravel your challenges. Understand this missing piece so your life can be entirely different.
I specialize in working with frustrated clients diagnosed with ADD/ADHD who want to finally understand how their brain works and use effective strategies to minimize their challenges based on their unique brain style. This includes both children and parents who are seeking information and strategies about how to better understand and support their child; students, struggling with the increasing challenges of organization, schoolwork and social lives; young adults who are taking their first steps towards independence and/or heading off to college; and adults of all ages who finally want to understand their ADHD/ADD and live the life they want!
I am a trained Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, graduated and earned my coaching credential from the Coaches Training Institute, an International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited training program that produces many of the world’s finest coaches. As a leader in the field of ADHD coaching, I am affiliated several international ADHD organizations, including: The ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder), ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association), ADD Resources Board member, and the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA) where proudly taught as a faculty member for five years. As an inspirational speaker, ADHD coach trainer, author and educator about ADHD I hope to always be increasing the awareness of ADHD worldwide.
I was raised and educated in the Pacific Northwest and I am learning to appreciate again the rain, the beautiful greens and fresh air, having recently moved back to the Seattle area after 12 years living in Northern California.
