Action is the key to success. Absolutely nothing is more important than taking action. There is not a degree, book, positive thought, teleclass or conference that will ever substitute for taking action.
Bottom line? Successful entrepreneurs are “do-ers” verses the “be-ers” in life.
Unfortunately, getting and staying in action can be incredibly difficult. So, in order to end the senseless cycle of stopping, not starting and never quitting again, here are three “to-dos”:
Do something. Move. Act. React. But don’t sit still, hoping that something will happen. Vision, ideas and intention alone cannot bring success. These are important, but they are only valuable after they have been implemented.
Getting into action is infinitely more valuable than a dozen brilliant ideas, waiting to be done at a better time or when they are more perfect.
Unless you take action, your clients will remain unserved. Your idea just a thought and you will not make the difference you want in the world, let alone make a living at it. If your goal is to create a new product, get more clients or write a book, start.
The key to reaching your goals is to take consistent action.
2. Start Small
Focus on what you can do in the present moment. Small, consistent purposeful action is the key to success. Taking small steps keeps you from being overwhelmed, builds momentum, keeps you focused and solidifies your commitment as you experience the satisfaction of getting close to your goals.
Once you are in action it is hard to stop. It’s Newton’s first law of motion: An object in motion tends to stay in motion. Use this to your advantage. Taking small steps day in and day out will get your closer to your goal, help you build confidence, get it done, and become the foundation for your success.
3. Work with Others
It’s much easier to stay in action if you are doing it with others who know about your goals, are genuinely interested and supportive of your success. When you tell people that you are going to do something, it becomes more difficult not to do it. When you commit to someone else to do something, it is much more difficult to let them down. Take the action now of working with a coach, mentor, accountability or mastermind group to keep you focused, inspired and moving forward.
We all will have times when our inspiration starts to wane. When the going gets tough. Increase the odds for long-term success by inviting others to share in your taking action
